John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk-pop music inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado have been a major influence on many to make the move to Colorado. There isn't another performer that embodies Colorado like John Denver said G. Brown curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Denver is the Hall of Fame's initial inductee, was honoured by the honor in 2011. To many, Denver is the image of Colorado. Through my many travels, I've encountered many individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They will declare, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you are from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands which was Denver's first Top 10 solo hit. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the tune, however Denver realized that it could turn into a hit once he heard an earlier version. The song was recorded a couple of days after performing on stage in Washington D.C. before an audience that was very enthusiastic.
